Susanna Hertrich works across media with photographs, video, graphics, objects, devices and their staging in space. At the interface to art, design and science, the artist addresses our relationship to technologies in an increasingly technologically permeated world. Susanna Hertrich transforms the space into a kind of laboratory whose equipment serves to investigate the world. The artist encourages us to take a perspective beyond current norms.
The central element of this practice is her surreal imagination of a functionality of objects that act as a link between fiction and reality. In stagings of a "strangely-familiar" or strangely-confident, we play with supposed science and celebrate the uncanny.
