New York is an art metropolis that attracts thousands of artists every year. It is probably the most competitive art space in the world.
Studio/Apartment:
Every year, Residency Unlimited (RU) organises a new studio and flat in consultation with the selected artists. The accommodation is usually a shared apartment or house with other artists. The place of work is usually an open-plan studio with separate work bunks, which is located on the premises of RU.
Special features:
Atelier Mondial offers the residency in collaboration with Residency Unlimited, an organisation based in a former church in Brooklyn. A dedicated team of younger artists and art managers organise a studio and accommodation for the selected grant holders, accompanies them during their stay, offers them opportunities to network with the New York art scene, and offers them a platform to present their artistic work.
Requirements:
The open call is intended as a targeted promotion for artists who already have artistic experience and a national exhibition record.
